On Nov. 10, 2018, Louisiana Tech University announced the launch of an ambitious campaign for our University.
Just about a year after the campaign announcement, Tech has reached its Forever Loyal campaign goal and has raised more than $125 million to support University initiatives.
More than 20,000 donors made 68,531 individual gifts to mark Louisiana Tech’s anniversary year. These investments – a grand total of $125,652,852 thus far – are focused on scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships for students, recruitment of faculty, research and teaching grants, and building the next phase of campus improvements.
We are so thankful for the overwhelming generosity of our alumni and friends and the support of the Tech Family in achieving this ambitious goal. Their investments will continue to impact our University well into the future. And because of them, our state will have a brighter future as well.

Among this year’s highlights has been the University’s inaugural Giving Day, held in the week following the April 25 tornado that hit Ruston and destroyed much of Tech’s Athletics Complex; alumni and friends pledged nearly $1.3 million.
“Our inaugural Giving Day truly showed the loyalty and commitment that’s ever-present in the Tech Family,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement. “Alumni and friends invested $1.28 million in Louisiana Tech’s plans for continued excellence on that day alone. I couldn’t be prouder of the achievements we’ve made throughout the campaign.”
Hull said the commitment of faculty and staff to pledge nearly $1 million to the campaign was a highlight as well. The number of donors to the campaign, including retirees, increased 14.5 percent from academic year 2017-18 to academic year 2018-19.
“Members of the Tech Family, particularly our faculty and staff, are committed to meeting our campaign goal and our efforts to provide unparalleled educational experiences for our students,” Hull said. “Their participation helps persuade alumni and friends of the importance of supporting Louisiana Tech throughout its next 125 years.”
The Forever Loyal campaign was designed to help Louisiana Tech face challenges and discover potential. The innovative and collaborative culture integrated throughout the University will help create economic prosperity and educational attainment and improve the quality of life for the people of Louisiana.
“So much about our unique culture of caring and commitment has been reinforced through the campaign,” Guice said. “Our Tech Family is dedicated to providing an unparalleled educational experience for students, and that includes having a campus setting designed to provide living and learning spaces for all members of our community as well as significant research opportunities for students and faculty alike.”
Participate in Forever Loyal campaign throughout 125th anniversary year
The Forever Loyal campaign will continue to provide support for Louisiana Tech, and donors can get involved throughout this 125th anniversary year.
“This campaign is designed to help us face challenges and discover potential, and with our Tech Family behind us, we create economic prosperity and educational attainment, and our University improves the quality of life for the people of Louisiana,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement.
Tech Family and Friends can still invest in Louisiana Tech in a number of ways:
- Helping create scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships.
- Enabling us to recruit, support, and retain the best faculty in the
world. - Igniting and fostering innovation through research and teaching
grants. - Shaping the next stage of development for our 21st Century
Campus.
Throughout the campaign, donors will continue to see the concrete impacts of their gifts. The Noble Trees project was fully funded, restoring and replacing the campus’ historic trees. After the tornado, recovery funds were quickly distributed to students, faculty, and staff in need of immediate assistance. Construction projects such as the Integrated
Engineering and Science Building were completed, and research projects focused on finding solutions to Grand Challenges in health and wellness, cyber, and energy were launched with funding assistance.
“Today, private funding assistance has become even more important to public universities,” Hull said. “We will continue to show that investment in Louisiana Tech yields a solid return and positive impact on our state, region, and nation. I encourage our alumni and friends – individuals and companies alike – to expect the best from Louisiana Tech, and then to stand by us as we deliver.”
