Get to know the Tech Family
Tech Top 5 began during the early days of the pandemic, not only as a welcome diversion from the problems caused by the virus, but also as a way to learn a little more about our Louisiana Tech University Family: students, staff, alumni, faculty, and friends.
Who knew that Chemical Engineering Professional-in-Residence Robert Newberry grew bonsai trees, or that there are such thing as bald cypress bonsais? Who knew that chemistry lecturer Dr. Marsha Cole knew every periodic table joke in the book and that her favorite element was (drum roll) carbon.
Or, that the School of Music’s Dr. Michael Austin knew so many “healthy” songs, including Cantana No. 25 “Es ist nichts Gesundes an mine Leibe” (There is Nothing Healthy in My Body), written the year after the Great Plague of Marseille in 1722 by J.S. Bach, who knew a thing or two about the piano and, as it turns out, about a pandemic.
