Bulldog fans will have more free tailgating and parking opportunities this upcoming football season as Louisiana Tech Athletics has revitalized its game day experience in both areas.
“We are excited about these changes and enhancements to our tailgating and parking game day experience,” said Ryan Ivey, Vice President and Director of Athletics. “We wanted to be thoughtful and purposeful with these changes with the goal to increase participation and eliminate as many friction points as possible. With the help, support, and input of our fans through our Tech Talks, focus groups and one-on-one conversations, I believe we have provided a great opportunity for an enhanced game day experience.”
There will be three sections of free tailgating around Joe Aillet Stadium. Tailgating Lot A (parking limited with a parking pass) is a green space on the north side of the Thomas Assembly Center next to Argent Pavilion, Lot B (free parking allowed with no pass needed) is on the hill located on the south side of the TAC, and Lot C will stretch around the entirety of the White Lot which is on the corner of Tech Drive and West Alabama Avenue.
Purple Reserved Tailgating has also been expanded to surround the Red Lot and RV edges plus the grass area behind the outfield field of Dr. Billy Bundrick Field to make up for the construction laydown lot.
Meanwhile, reserved tailgaters this season will also receive an extra parking pass into the Red Lot.
The biggest parking change is the bisecting of the White Lot which will now have a carved-out section for free public parking. Other changes include the Green Lot which has been absorbed by the Red Lot on the north side of Joe Aillet Stadium while the Gold Reserved Lot has been updated to reflect the spaces reserved for Gold Lot members.
All reserved parking lots will be staffed eight hours prior to kickoff or at 8 a.m. for games starting before 4 p.m. Stadium Drive will be open five hours prior to kickoff.
