Louisiana Tech University recently announced the conclusion of the public phase of Forever Loyal: The Campaign for Louisiana Tech University, the boldest fundraising initiative in the institution’s history, which raised more than $171 million.
“When we publicly announced our goal in 2018, though ambitious, we were confident the loyal members of our Tech Family would respond in tremendous ways,” said Tech President Dr. Les Guice. “This momentous achievement would not have been possible without the commitment of thousands of members of the Tech Family. We are grateful for their unwavering support and overwhelming generosity.”
The public phase of Tech’s most ambitious campaign to date was launched Nov. 10, 2018, with a goal of $125 million in honor of the University’s 125th anniversary. One year later, the University reached this goal.
The Forever Loyal campaign was designed to help Louisiana Tech face challenges and discover potential. The innovative and collaborative culture integrated throughout the University will help create economic prosperity and educational attainment and improve the quality of life for the people of Louisiana.
“Campaigns are successful when donors believe in the vision of the campaign—and the mission of the institution that stands behind it,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President for University Advancement. “Alumni and friends have generously invested in Louisiana Tech’s plans for continued excellence. I couldn’t be prouder of the achievements we’ve made throughout the campaign.”
More than 23,500 donors made 100,948 individual gifts and commitments throughout the course of the campaign. Investments have focused on scholarships, assistantships, and fellowships for students; recruitment of faculty; research and teaching grants; and building the next phase of campus improvements.
Notable achievements throughout the campaign include two Giving Days, each raising more than $1 million in only 24 hours, the completion of the Integrated Engineering and Science Building, and investments in research projects focused on finding solutions to Grand Challenges in health and wellness, cyber, and energy. University faculty and staff committed more than $1 million to the campaign. Additionally, members of the Tech Family have supported immediate student needs in response to natural disasters in 2018 and 2019, as well as the global pandemic.
